The Commuter, LBCC’s student newspaper, has a new look to its website.
Seven students overhauled the site this summer while working on their Cooperative Work Experience credits.
Among their objectives were to:
- Give the site a fresh new look.
- Take advantage of more design and content options available through WordPress.
- Make it easier for new staff to learn and use the site.
The staff also is looking to adopt a more “web-centric” work ethic when operations resume in September, meaning they will look to post breaking news online ASAP, and use the weekly printed edition of The Commuter to show off the best work of the staff.
In the next two weeks, the staff will gear up for its first Fall issue, which will be tied into the college’s Welcome Day on Sept. 15.
